Taking Care of Business

Local businesses support a healthy community by making healthy choices easy for staff and customers. Here are some of the great things Kimberley businesses have been up to:

Supporting a Healthy Community

RBC also participates in monthly Wellness Checks with community paramedic, Aileen Boyd. Wellness checks can include blood pressure checks, diabetes screening, and much more. Contact Aileen to have a wellness check at your workplace!

Informed Dining

PictureBurrito Grill has been working hard to bring you nutrition information for their menu items! This initiative will ensure healthy options are being provided and will allow customers to make informed choices.

Active Transit

Selkirk Secondary School shop students have been busy building bike racks for local businesses to encourage choosing active transit. You will be able to see their craftsmanship at A&W and the Burrito Grill.
Thanks to the City of Kimberley for helping to put this new infrastructure in place!

Making Activity an Easy Choice at Work

The staff at Honeyman Morris Inc. takes fitness into their own hands at work! A Taking Care of Business microgrant allowed them to update their soup cans to free weights and provided some extra mats so they can work out as a group!

Moody Bee’s “busy as a bee” project has supplied their staff with new runners from Purcell and Gym 67 passes to help break the shoes in. There is a leader board up in the store and adjusted hours to help the staff stay motivated and take advantage of this great opportunity.

Rethinking how We Wait

Kimberley Medical Clinic is offering a different way to wait! The clinic has added a standing desk to the waiting room, so visitors have an option other than sitting while they wait.
