Healthy Kimberley Food Recovery Depot is seeking a motivated and resourceful individual for the position of Operations Coordinator.
We recover food ‘fit to eat but not fit for sale’ and distribute it to our community to make the healthy choice more accessible. Since 2019, we’ve recovered over 315,000 lbs of food and produced over 25,000 servings of meals for vulnerable community members.

Under direction of the Manager, the Coordinator position is responsible for onsite operations.
20 hrs/week
$25 - $30 per hour, depending on experience (employee or contractor negotiable)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:    

• Provide on-site supervision of operations including food safety assurance, equitable distribution, efficiency and accessibility
• Training, scheduling & supervision of 100+ volunteers, who contribute 300 hrs/month
• Food preparation and assistance with meal production coordination
• Collaborative program development and fundraising 
• Other related tasks as required 

Key Competencies:    

• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask 
• Experience in kitchen and/or other supervisory roles
• Strong food preparation, creativity and production cooking skills
• Computer literacy, including experience with Excel spreadsheets, Google Suite, social media
• Proven leadership skills and collaborative nature
• Strong time management and task prioritization 

Assets:    

• Passion for food literacy
• Experience working with non-profit organization
• Grant writing experience

Required: 
Related experience and/or education
Valid Driver’s License 
Current Food Safety certification 
Use of personal computer & cell phone
